Primrose "Prim" Everdeen is the younger sister of Katniss Everdeen. She was reaped to participate in the Seventy-Fourth Annual Hunger Games, but her sister volunteered to take her place. After her sister entered the arena, she insisted that Gale Hawthorne, her sister's closest friend, teach her to hunt so that she could take care of her family in Katniss' absence.
