Lily Janice Potter (b. January 30, 1960-d. October 31, 1981) is the late mother of Harry Potter and the wife of James Potter. Lily was a gifted witch while in school, and one of the most powerful mage students ever trained by Minerva McGonagall, Rolanda Hooch, Pomona Sprout, and Poppy Pomfrey. Her aptitude for potions earned her an apprenticeship under her former potions master at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn. Under his tutelage, she achieved a mastery at a younger age than any recorded master.
