Beena Greene is the victor of the Thirty-First Annual Hunger Games from District Twelve. She was the mentor to Haymitch Abernathy during the Fiftieth Hunger Games, and they mentored tributes together for twenty years before Beena was diagnosed with a heart condition and moved to the Capitol. She is currently awaiting a heart transplant, but Capitol politics prevent easy access to the treatment. Every chance he gets, Haymitch travels to the hospital to visit Beena and bring letters from home since her husband and daughter are not allowed to visit her in the city.
