Alicent Hightower (Dancing Dragons)

Alicent Hightower is the second wife of Viserys I Targaryen. When she married him, she had hoped that he would set his first wife, Aemma Arryn, aside for her. This, however, did not happen and she was forced to accept the woman's presence. For much of her marriage, she has been working to have her son, Aegon Targaryen, named his father's heir. Unfortunately, Viserys remains steadfast in his decision to name Rhaenyra Targaryen, his eldest daughter by Aemma, his future successor. Her actions have split the royal family in two. She is constantly in the works with Criston Cole, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, to undermine Rhaenyra's ascension.
